Our Leaders
The Apostle Peter, one of the first leaders in the church, wrote to a group of elders:
“Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example” (1 Peter 5.2-3).

The elders of the Central Church aren’t a board of directors. They don’t spend their time sitting in a conference room reading reports. They spend their time among the church praying for and with people. They join us in celebrating life’s joys and hurting over life’s sorrows.
Our elders at Central exemplify the attitude that Peter wrote about above. They care. They are faithful. They lead by serving. They are humble. They are examples. Who better to watch over the spiritual life of our church?
These men are well-qualified to shepherd our church. They are equipped by life experience, giftedness, and ability to provide sage advice in times of struggles and wise decisions as they lead the church. They have raised godly families – each is a husband, a father, and a grandfather, and one is even a great-grandfather. They have worked all their lives – an educator, an attorney, a sales manager, and an engineer.
But the main reason they are our elders is we have seen them live out their faith among us and we trust them to help us follow in their footsteps of faith as they follow the footsteps of Christ.
You are welcome to talk to any of our elders at any time for prayer, encouragement, Bible study, or advice.
